Background

Dr Meg, the founder of Beacon Clinical,  works with individuals presenting with a broad spectrum of issues across all age groups, but has particular interest working with young people and their families.  Over her 20+ years of practice, Dr Meg has gained experience in a wide range of clinical areas including: mental health, physical health, neurodivergency and eating disorders. She is trained in a range of models including CBT, DBT and systemic approaches.. Beyond Beacon Clinical, Dr Meg continues to give her time to the NHS, where she is employed as the Consultant within a Tier 4 CAMHS  Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

How Meg Works

Meg has core skills in psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation. She  works integratively across a range of psychological models, but is particularly interested in 3rd wave CBT, systemic, and compassionate approaches. She demonstrates an ongoing commitment to  professional development and supervision, ensuring the clinical work offered is of a high standard and grounded in the current evidence base.

Meg is warm and informal in her manner, aiming to help people better understand the social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties that are challenging them, and join with them in finding solutions. Meg has a specialist interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, rejects deficit-based models and is committed to non-ableist practices. She can offer a calm and quiet therapeutic space in a non-clinical setting for individual or family sessions.
